Hey Hey I'm back for updates...yes Datin Norma....I'm updating....this time, it's on the lil party thrown on Christmas Eve at Xian Yang's hse....the original baby lol~ =p
Worked halfday...rushed home to get my brownies baked...that's my contribution for the potluck dinner....everyone else brought food dishes so I thought a lil sweet thing for dessert should round things up....sloshed everything together,a quick mix and into the oven...ooh my brownie was generously studded with crunchy walnuts...tot of smearing it with melted chocolate but held back the idea coz it's gonna be too chocolatey and yucky...so a simple plain walnut brownie it is =) oh and i got 2 Swiss Rolls too....juz in case hehehe
Sped off to Bukit Batok West Ave 5....greeted by Mrs Li aka Mdm Chow aka Duck....sweet! all aircon and hey hey hey a christmas tree stood by the corner of the living room (that flora of a thing cost a whopping $250 bucks alright!)...all adorned with the silver glass balls and gold ribbons with the fancy chasing lights and a huge glittering star atop the tree...did i mention the boxes of wrapped gifts at the foot of the tree? wonderful...mine was a little green parcel containing a very ncie gift...smth with blings blings on it...personally i loved it hehehe darn wish i had gotten one for myself =p oh well...all in the spirit of goodwill that i'm parting with it...
XY was mulling over his cereal prawns....i was sooo tempted to shoot my mouth off and gave instructions but held back...damn badly i held back coz hush* he's getting it all wrong lol~ oh well then again this is his kitchen...i wun say much....bit my tongue, tied my hands and juz smile hehehe...all this while Duck had two trays of baked chicken in the oven...splendid!
By 6.30, all was ready...invitees were around...mostly hmmm us...me, lulu, pea, murni, janice & husband...and xy's friends....15 ppl cramped in the flat hehehe...but cool...food laden out...pizzas...pepperoni & hawaiian by nicholas...tom yam soup courtesy of justin....potato salad by lulu, fried rice by murni...etc...for dessert, there's chocolate fondue fountain by pea, brownies by urs truly, a cake by darren, mango strudel by the hosts and of coz red wine & whisky...burn ma throat baby burn it all!~ urgh! honestly i dunno how ppl can come up with highly colourful descriptions when drinking such things...floral bouquet, fruity undertones, musky, vanilla, rosy etc...all i can smell is juz alcohol and isn't it juz repulsive?! anyway, both did go through my throat so hell yeah lol!~
We exchanged gifts at the stroke of midnight after a whole round of merry wishing...janice's husband (Lord help me with his name pls =p) got my gift...he's elated yeah...i got a sweet pair of matching cups from janice....oh and a pill box which i always wanted to get hehe =p ....hmmm tis year, it's the mugs and cups year for me...been getting them at almost every occasion...birthday, weddings, engagements, x'mas....new year mug for me? anyone? hahaha nevertheless, it's an overhaul of mugs for me at home...thanks a million peeps! Played games...Taboo, cards and blow-the-fruitloops....had tonnes of fun!~ Kelvin took loads of pics and made it into a slideshow....brilliant!~ I dun have the pics...i only have some taken from my hp...sucks but better than nothing...hehehe did i mention we wore x'mas hats? sweeeet!~ LoL
Anyway, really enjoyed it...thank u to the wonderful hosts for a good time!~
