I can finally heave a huge sigh of relieve as the week is coming to an end for me...well, not exactly an end though....I'm referring to my working week....coz from tmw onwards and till next wed, I'm on leave YEAH!!!!!~ God damn it! i'm so deserving of some real rest!
With the closing of the work week, it signifies a whole new hectic week for me...sigh no rest as yet for this poor soul...but then again nvm...it's juz bz with the upcoming weddings then off to the lawyer's office on monday to settle some unfinished business...tat's another story i dun wish to divulge in for now coz i'm in a happy mood right this very moment...and ain't nobody gonna spoil it for me no no honey...
Today, hafi sms me asking how much shloud be given for the wedding...so I told her what she needs to know...now the funny thing is the difference in our culture..In our malay context of throwing a wedding banquet is for the sole purpose of celebration...the host invites relatives and friends to indulge in the special occasion...merry making and strengthening bonds...delicious food being served up...music playing away in the background....nothing mentioned about giving money to the host...and most imptly, hosts do not hanker for smth in return....as for a chinese wedding banquet, the opposite seems to hold fort...guests often have to figure out how much money to give...and this depends heavily on the price of a banquet table which normally sits ten persons. And mind you, the sum isnt small...it hovers around the range of like 60 bucks and above...again depending on the luxury of the banquet being held i.e. the venue, food quality and of coz, the relationship between hosts & guests...the closer you are to the hosts, the more money is given and vice versa...so ya'll get my point here? ya da ya da ya da...giving away money in quite a sum sometimes led to unhappiness...hence, guests do feel reluctant to part with their money...so what im trying to say here is the lack of sincerity....but then again, like i always say, do everything with an open mind...if tat's the culture for aeons, then stick with it...no harm done...i'm juz putting in my two cents worth hehehe yeah ppl ya get me on this one? yeah i think u do...
So what are my plans for the upcoming week? hehehe loads up my sleeves i tell ya! There's the shopping, eating, gossipings, clubbing etc etc etc a whole line up of events...gonna be 'bz' entertaining myself yeap...so till then, wait for my next entry...adios amor!`
